HouseQuote is an introduction service. We provide indicative cost information and pass your enquiry to tradespeople who may be able to carry out the work.

• We are not a builder, contractor or tradesperson, and we do not carry out any work ourselves.
• Any contract for work is made directly between you and the tradesperson. We are not a party to it and are not liable for the quality, timing, safety or price of their work.
• We do not employ, supervise or guarantee the tradespeople who contact you. You should always carry out your own checks, ask for written quotations, and confirm insurance and any registrations relevant to the job (for example Gas Safe for gas work or a competent-person scheme for electrical work) before agreeing to anything.

The cost ranges shown on this site are automated indicative estimates based on the information you provide, typical UK market rates and regional adjustments. They are not quotations, offers or valuations, and they are not a substitute for a site visit.

Actual prices frequently differ once a tradesperson inspects the property — because of access, condition, hidden defects, specification, regulatory requirements or material availability. You should not make financial commitments, mortgage or insurance decisions on the basis of an estimate from this site. To the extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for decisions taken in reliance on an indicative estimate.

Cost guides, articles and planning information on this site are general information, not professional, legal, structural or financial advice.

• Give accurate information about the property and the work required.
• Only upload photos you have the right to share, and avoid including other people or sensitive documents.
• Understand that when you submit a quote request, your details and photos will be shared with up to three tradespeople so they can contact you.
• Do not submit enquiries you have no genuine intention of pursuing.

• You must be legally entitled to carry out the work you accept, hold valid public liability insurance, and hold any registration or certification the work requires by law.
• You must give us accurate business information, and tell us promptly if your insurance or registrations lapse. You must not claim accreditations you do not hold.
• Enquiries are provided as-is. We do not guarantee that any enquiry will convert into work, or that the homeowner's description is accurate or complete.
• Lead credits are purchased in advance and are consumed when you claim an enquiry. Because credits are digital content supplied immediately, the 14-day cancellation right does not apply once a credit has been used. Unused credits may be refunded within 14 days of purchase on request. Where an enquiry is clearly invalid — fake contact details, an unreachable homeowner despite reasonable attempts, or work outside your stated area — we will refund the credit if you report it within 7 days.
• You must use homeowners' details only to quote for the enquiry in question. You must not add them to marketing lists without consent or pass their details to anyone else. You are an independent data controller for that data and must comply with UK GDPR and PECR.
• We may suspend or remove any account for misrepresentation, repeated complaints, or unlawful, unsafe or abusive conduct.

Reviews may only be submitted by homeowners who have had work carried out following an introduction through HouseQuote. We do not write, buy, commission or incentivise reviews, and we do not publish fabricated reviews. We may remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, off-topic or that we have reason to believe are not genuine.

You may not scrape, copy or republish substantial parts of the site, attempt to interfere with its operation, submit malicious content, or use it for anything unlawful. All content, branding and layout on this site remains our property or that of our licensors.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for the acts or omissions of tradespeople, for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit or opportunity. Where we are liable to a tradesperson, our total liability is limited to the credits they have paid us in the previous 12 months. Nothing here affects a consumer's statutory rights.

If something goes wrong, email info@housequote.co.uk and we will respond within 5 working days. Complaints about the work itself should be raised with the tradesperson first.

We may update these terms; the version published here applies to your use of the site. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
